Verlie's Diary
Rise of Hitler, Stalin and Mao Tse-Tung. Farm-Relief Act was signed into law. FBI ended the crime sprees of John Dillinger, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, Pretty Boy Floyd and Baby Face Nelson. Verlie's diary for this year has been lost.
The diaries for 1932-35, 1938-39, 1941, 1943, 1947-48, 1955, and 1958-60 have been lost. Moreover, only the month of January exists for 1963. Contributor Kay White Monohan explained that the original diaries were stored in an attic following Verlie's death in 1966 and were damaged by water. When discovered decades later those unreadable may have been discarded.
