During the 50’s, the Sub Debs social club in Athens initiation required activities such as scrubbing the sidewalk in front of the theatre with a toothbrush, trying to identify objects while blindfolded, and not speaking to boys. On the day we could not speak to boys, we had to collect at least ten boy’s signatures on a hollow chicken egg. While going through my memory box(es), I discovered my 65 year old egg, carefully stored in a plastic cylinder. As you can see, the signatures are still visible. Contributed by Kay Monohan.
