Friends

Introduction

Our young years in Athens were accentuated by good families and special friends. We developed life-long relationships and have fond memories of place and events that occurred in Athens. We had a few bad times, too, but these were often overshadowed by a prevailing sense of optimism.

Our years in Athens were filled with friends dreams. It wasn't until later that things got complicated. The Statler Brothers hit, Class of '57, had it about right in recounting unanticipated twists and turns in life yet remembering, as in the chorus, that "... the class of '57 had its dreams, but living life from day to day is never like it seems. Things get complicated when you get past eighteen, but the class of '57 had its dreams."

Friends is dedicated to those who shared that time, an interval from 1951-1969. Those were the years that together we were growing up, attending school, starting to date, and setting the course for our life-long journeys. We enjoyed our community, families and friends.

In this section there are photographs of Athens High School seniors from 1951-1969, slide shows of more recent reunions and socials, and snapshots taken over the years displayed in albums. Please send photographs you have or information about a friend by contacting us here.
