Athens Hotel

David K. Baxter

Originally a hotel kept by John Alexander (Tude) Gore, later to become W. T. Appling's Hotel Athens and then a hotel and boarding house run by R. R. Sage before becoming a private residence, many may remember it as the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Bondurant. This building, formerly located on the southeast corner of State and Vermillion Streets, was razed in 1997.  See photos in the Change chapter in Athens We Knew.

Additional information or photographs you may have about the Athens Hotel or other uses of the building may be contributed by contacting me here.
